TEACHER HANINGTON urdt girls school
My name is Aggrey Hanington Isabirye and I come from uganda . My hometown is Mukono . I was born there in 1993 and have lived my entire life here.
Iam agraduatr a bachelors degof Kyambogo University. From my very first year as a teacher of first-year university students, I tried to use computers and the internet in my teaching. I guess you could call what I used the "flipped classroom" approach. In this approach, the teacher uses technology to "flip" the usual way of doing things from lecturing during class time and students doing homework outside of class.
In my writing classroom, the students would sit at computers and write their papers and I would talk to them and answer questions. Outside of class, they would read the textbook and I would send them my lecture notes.
This is just one example, from almost 30 years ago. I am still using technology every chance I get to be innovative and improve the student experience. I have taught in many countries--China, Belarus, Turkey, Moldova, and Nigeria--and even though I have lived my entire life in Columbus, Ohio, I have done a lot of traveling around the world and hope to live abroad someday.
My wife Brieanne is here in Kagadi with me, leading a seminar in female empowerment for ARU students. We have two cats, named Ferdinand and Isabella.
