VISIONARY APPROACH TO E-LEARNING

 The future I want for my students

  • All learners should be equipped with knowledge and skills to use e- leaning materials and resources
  • Learners should be able to search for information from the internet using tablets, smartphones, and computers.
  • All learners should be able to join zoom lessons with ease.
Will the learners be using technology in schools?
  • All learners will be able to use technology like smart phones, tablets and computers.

 Will the learners be using technology after graduation and when they start working?
  • Of course yes all learners will continue using technology
what is the  idea usage of technology in my subject?
  • to make lesson notes, prepare schemes of work and daily record keeping

 I am a professional teacher of Mathematics and Economics. There have been changes in technologies since I joined school in 1999.  The first classroom I entered had only a chalk board and a few seats. This didn't change through out until I joined University in 2013 At University, I hand my small button phone and we were introduced to computer but we hard nothing to do with computers for we hard no knowledge about it. Time went on when we got computers and projectors in our lecture rooms We were also introduced blended learning where we would interact with our lecturers both physically and virtually. This mostly helped students who had smart phones and laptops. Now days I use technology almost through out the day; in office, to communicate, to teach and to socialize with others  Technology is very good for it has made work easy

DESCRIPANCT BETWEEN VISION AND CURRENT REALITY

     The vision for e-learning is different from the reality in that my vision for e-learning is all students from primary to university use e-learning technology like computer, tabs and laptop and also use those same e-learning gadgets while at work. My current reality is there is access to some e-learning gadgets like computer, laptop, projector and tablets for learners. Opportunity available to reduce the gap from current towards vision is that all students in the school have tablets and they can access internet so lessons can be conducted online.
