THE CURRENT REALITY OF E LEARNING IN MY CLASSROOM AND THE SCHOOL

 

My school is one of the leading schools in Kagadi district and in the whole of the western region. all the classes are networked with computers, overhead projectors and the sound system
Besides this all the learners from p5 to S6 have got the tablets that are used in connecting to online classes by the use of both synchronous and asynchronous methods of e learning
we also have the school website which is www.urdteduc.ac.ug SERP that we use to connect to the learners.

 I am a professional teacher of Mathematics and Economics. There have been changes in technologies since I joined school in 1999.  The first classroom I entered had only a chalk board and a few seats. DESCRIPANCT BETWEEN VISION AND CURRENT REALITY

     The vision for e-learning is different from the reality in that my vision for e-learning is all students from primary to university use e-learning technology like computer, tabs and laptop and also use those same e-learning gadgets while at work. My current reality is there is access to some e-learning gadgets like computer, laptop, projector and tablets for learners. Opportunity available to reduce the gap from current towards vision is that all students in the school have tablets and they can access internet so lessons can be conducted online.
