 MY EDUCATION NARRATIVE RELATED TO TECHNOLOGY

         My  name is Simbwa Emmanuel, teacher at Tijhaar community school-Kakumiro District.

   Here is my education narrative related to technology.

  My first technology i used  was a small baton cell phone of itel which I bought in 2006 in my S.6 vacation and bought at 60,000sh my first salary.

    Yes, in primary school I used  calculator as my technology

  In my secondary school I also used a simple technology of calculator

at university i seldom used computer but rather my small phone which I bought in my s.6 vacation 

   actually as of now technology is embraced in my life because I have a tablet which has eased learning of students by use of soft notes

    I use my tablet, computers projecting work which eases teaching other than using chalkboard.

 oh, am used to this technology without it I feel the lesson is not successful.

 I am a professional teacher of Mathematics and Economics. There have been changes in technologies since I joined school in 1999.  The first classroom I entered had only a chalk board and a few seats. This didn't change through out until I joined University in 2013 At University, I hand my small button phone and we were introduced to computer but we hard nothing to do with computers for we hard no knowledge about it. Time went on when we got computers and projectors in our lecture rooms We were also introduced blended learning where we would interact with our lecturers both physically and virtually. This mostly helped students who had smart phones and laptops. Now days I use technology almost through out the day; in office, to communicate, to teach and to socialize with others  Technology is very good for it has made work easy

DESCRIPANCT BETWEEN VISION AND CURRENT REALITY

     The vision for e-learning is different from the reality in that my vision for e-learning is all students from primary to university use e-learning technology like computer, tabs and laptop and also use those same e-learning gadgets while at work. My current reality is there is access to some e-learning gadgets like computer, laptop, projector and tablets for learners. Opportunity available to reduce the gap from current towards vision is that all students in the school have tablets and they can access internet so lessons can be conducted online.
