MY BACKGROUND

Goodafternoon members my name is Atuhairwe Beatrice my hometown is Mabaale Kasoga village i was born in 1994 i became libraian in 2020 as a graduate of Makerere University. in first year of working i used computers to organise and manage library work in my primary school i did not use any technology i started using techology in secondary school and my first technology nwas a phone then i used tablet, phone and computer at university to communicate, send coursework online, making research among others i have improved greatly because i can do my library work using techology ie cataloguing and communicate to the library users using technology

 I am a professional teacher of Mathematics and Economics. There have been changes in technologies since I joined school in 1999.  The first classroom I entered had only a chalk board and a few seats. This didn't change through out until I joined University in 2013 At University, I hand my small button phone and we were introduced to computer but we hard nothing to do with computers for we hard no knowledge about it. Time went on when we got computers and projectors in our lecture rooms We were also introduced blended learning where we would interact with our lecturers both physically and virtually. This mostly helped students who had smart phones and laptops. Now days I use technology almost through out the day; in office, to communicate, to teach and to socialize with others  Technology is very good for it has made work easy

DESCRIPANCT BETWEEN VISION AND CURRENT REALITY

     The vision for e-learning is different from the reality in that my vision for e-learning is all students from primary to university use e-learning technology like computer, tabs and laptop and also use those same e-learning gadgets while at work. My current reality is there is access to some e-learning gadgets like computer, laptop, projector and tablets for learners. Opportunity available to reduce the gap from current towards vision is that all students in the school have tablets and they can access internet so lessons can be conducted online.
