BACK GROUND ON TECHNOLOGY BY MONICA


 My name is Twesige Monica am a grade III teacher. I completed my o level in the year 2022 but we did not use technology. At collage still we did not use technology in learning, but we would have a lesson for computer sometimes my first school of service still we did not use technology. But when I joined Urdt I found them using technology which we still use now. We use computers and projectors when teaching. The system is good, but I have a challenge with teaching same mathematical symbols and calculations.

In general technology is good and it has helped me in research and learning more and being updated, it has saved my time when teaching.

There have been changes in technologies since I joined school in 1999.  The first classroom I entered had only a chalk board and a few seats. This didn't change through out until I joined University in 2013 At University, I hand my small button phone and we were introduced to computer but we hard nothing to do with computers for we hard no knowledge about it. DESCRIPANCT BETWEEN VISION AND CURRENT REALITY

     The vision for e-learning is different from the reality in that my vision for e-learning is all students from primary to university use e-learning technology like computer, tabs and laptop and also use those same e-learning gadgets while at work. My current reality is there is access to some e-learning gadgets like computer, laptop, projector and tablets for learners. Opportunity available to reduce the gap from current towards vision is that all students in the school have tablets and they can access internet so lessons can be conducted online.
